August 25th
First Meeting – Be You, Bravely
In this meeting we will introduce this fall’s theme “Be You, Bravely” and focus on fellowship and getting to know one another. Our theme this year is about being confident in who Christ has made us to be and looking at ourselves according to what He says about us and not according to the expectations of this world. It is also about taking courage to trust Christ with areas of our life where we are fearful and surrendering those fears to Him. We will also engage in a speed dating activity and spend time in discussion groups sharing on where each of us feels the Lord is calling us to be brave.
September 8th
Courage To Unplug – Rebecca Reavis
How much has social media become a part of your everyday life? While it can be a great tool to connect, it also has its downsides as a potential distraction that keeps us from living in the present, a means of constantly comparing ourselves to others, and even a form of narcissism and self-glorification. Are you using your social media to further your kingdom or further Christ’s kingdom? In this meeting, we will discuss some tips on practicing healthy social media habits and how to know when you may need to unplug a bit. We will also talk about setting healthy internet habits for our kids and ways to practice internet safety.
September 22nd
Courage To Be Authentic – Stacy Doss
Do you struggle with the constant pressure to feel like you have to appear as though you have it all together? Are you falling victim to the lie that anything less may be perceived as weakness? God created us to need Him, first and foremost, and to need community with others in order to live abundantly. He desires for us to be free to live in front of others as who He created each of us to individually be. In this meeting we will discuss what it looks like to let go of the “try hard” life and accept God’s grace in the areas that we strive to hide from others. When we are able to take off the masks and live as the perfectly imperfect women that Christ designed us to be, we are able to shine forth as a beautiful and authentic light for Jesus… a light that He will use as He wills to draw others to Himself.
October 6th
Courage To Be Free – Lindsay Daw
The Bible is full of verses that speak about freedom. On the cross, Christ offered us freedom unlike anything else that this world can give us. We are free from eternal separation from a God, yes, but what about now? In the daily trenches of mommyhood, what does it mean to be truly free in Christ? Galatians 5 tells us that it was "for freedom's sake Christ set us free." In this meeting we will learn what that means for us today!
